A review of your current assessment followed by a successful appeal can save you money in rates paid.

Are you paying too much?

Every commercial property in the country has been re-valued by the Government’s Valuation Office Agency with effect from 1st April 2010. The Rateable Value (RV) given to every property is meant to represent the hypothetical rental value of the property were it let on 1st April 2008, a date unfortunately close to the top of the market. The RV is then multiplied by the National Non domestic rate multiplier, which for 2010/11 has been set at 0.414p in the £, to give the amount you pay.

But every ratepayer has the right to appeal the level of the RV, which is where we can help. We subscribe to a strict code of professional practice and are regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors giving you the assurance that your work will be handled fairly and properly.

Most appeals can be settled informally with the Valuation Office, and in those circumstances if the appeal is successful our fee is usually calculated as a proportion of the amount you will save, so there is nothing to lose.
