Fergus Laird
Business Development
Fergus’s new role within Naylors focuses on Business Development, drawing on more than three decades of experience in the commercial property sector.
He has been part of Naylors for all but one of the firm’s 36 years, having begun his career at William H Brown in Norwich in 1989 before moving to Newcastle to join Storey Sons & Parker in 1990. Over this time, Fergus has played an integral role in the firm’s growth and continued reputation for high-quality advice.
Fergus is CEO of the Commercial Property Network (CPN), a nationwide association of independently owned general practice surveying firms. He also serves as a Trustee of Centrewest and The Beacon Partnership—two charities based in Newcastle’s West End that work to improve quality of life for local residents.
Within Naylors, Fergus previously specialised in commercial property agency work, acting on behalf of national funds, property companies and high net worth individuals.
Outside of work, Fergus enjoys cycling and running in the countryside near his home in the North Yorkshire Moors and, whenever possible, in the hills of Mallorca.
