Naylors Gavin Black were commissioned by Portico Doors – a newly founded family business with previous experience – to acquire a manufacturing facility South of Tyne.
Keith Stewart, who leads the Industrial Team for Naylors Gavin Black, sat down with the family to seek what requirements the business needed which included specific location, power requirements and dedicated yard.
The process commenced by undertaking a search early in 2022 when properties of 20,000 – 40,000 sqft were in short supply, but after a limited shortlist viewings were undertaken.
After terms were negotiated and agreed, Naylors Gavin Black’s building surveyors undertook an extensive building survey and reported findings to establish that the property was suitable.
The property was acquired in July 2022 and Portico after their fit out started manufacturing in September 2022.
