As a property owner did you know a legionella risk assessment should be carried out every 12 months?

15.11.2016

Within any property there is a risk of legionella disease developing within untreated water systems. The issue is covered by health and safety laws and if not handled correctly can have potentially fatal consequences.

There are two aspects to water hygiene services, which should be considered carefully by landlords with shared water systems;

1. Legionella Risk Assessments

2. Water Hygiene compliance works

A legionella risk assessment should be carried out every 12 months. At Naylors, once a risk assessment has been commissioned, the Facilities Management department analyse the results and recommend compliance works which are put into place, on a monthly or quarterly basis, depending on the risk.

We manage this whole process, from instructing the risk assessment to the monthly/quarterly recommended works.

This then ensures the risk of legionella is regularly checked and prevented throughout the whole water system from the main supply down to the point of use.
