Naylors appointed on refurbished city centre office space

Building work has completed on a £600,000 office refurbishment of a Grade II listed building on Newcastle’s Grey Street.

Gainsborough House, which is home to Café Rouge, has undergone a major revamp in a bid to attract new tenants and now offers 16,000sqft of ultra-modern office space.

The building, which was acquired by LRE Capital in 2015 in collaboration with Citivale, is a mixed-use five-storey building on Grey Street, which is also occupied by Manpower on the second floor.

The London-based real estate investment company, led by Sassan Ahsani, has invested in a major refurbishment of three vacant floors and common areas of the building and appointed Naylors as joint letting agent.

Simon Taylor, director at Naylors said: “Gainsborough House is a Grade II listed building but now offers some of the most contemporary office space in Newcastle City Centre. The refurbishment incorporates a number of key improvements including the introduction of LED lighting, shower facilities and a full revamp of the reception area.”

On the third floor, the front section of the floor has been raised to allow for a much improved view out onto Grey Street. The refurbishment scheme will help to transform the image of Gainsborough House, which should now appeal to office occupiers who may not have previously considered a Grey Street address”.

The three vacant office floors can accommodate a range of requirements of between 4,700sqft and 16,000 sqft and are available independently or in a combination of two or three floors.
