The region’s commercial property people help vital service to expand

18.10.2019

A North East commercial property specialist has aided the expansion of a local authority service that helps vulnerable adults to live independently.

The industrial agency and building consultancy teams at Naylors Gavin Black worked together to secure a five-year deal that will see an equipment loan store for the elderly and disabled expand its services in Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough Council’s Tees Community Equipment Service (TCES), which promotes independence and prevents hospital admissions by assisting people with their daily living needs, has taken over an additional unit at Raleigh Court, on Riverside Business Park.

The 16,962 sq. ft. unit, refurbished by Naylors Gavin Black on behalf of clients of IOAM LLP, will provide additional storage and training facilities for the organisation, which
already has a unit on the development at one of Teesside’s most prominent commercial locations where other tenants include Royal Mail and Park Electrical.

TCES will now benefit from the refurbishment works which were project managed by the building consultancy team at Naylors Gavin Black and included full redecoration, installation of new toilets, fire exit and electric roller shutter door.

Dean Clark, associate partner at Naylors Gavin Black said: “The thorough programme of improvements has made this space even more functional, to enable TCES to provide even more equipment to improve the quality of life for many individuals. We’re proud to have been involved.”

Keith Stewart, partner at Naylors Gavin Black, added: “This latest deal means only one unit now remains available on this well-positioned industrial park, which is well-served by both the A19 and A66 and lies only half a mile from the town centre, and a mile from the biggest port in the region.

“With a great deal of interest in the remaining property, we advise any interested parties to act quickly.”
